Bruiser Theatre Company is delighted to be a collaborator on EQUAL ARTS 2024–2026, an Erasmus+ project supporting greater gender equality and balance in leadership and management roles across the performing arts, dance, and media sectors.
Led by InDance International (Spain) in partnership with European organisations including Bruiser Theatre Company (Ireland) and Skill Up Srl (Italy), EQUAL ARTS brings together partners from Spain, Italy, and Ireland with a shared ambition: to support women aspiring to leadership and management positions within the performing arts.
The project aims to explore gender disparities within the sector, identify the barriers that impact women’s progression into leadership roles, and develop practical training and educational tools to support greater inclusion and opportunity.
Through research, collaboration, and the collection of real-world case studies and best practices, EQUAL ARTS will create new digital learning resources, including a training curriculum and micro-course designed to support educators, trainers, and learners with skills and knowledge aligned with the needs of the creative industries.
As part of this work, Bruiser Theatre Company is hosting an online capacity-building event exploring the personal, professional, and artistic development of women working in leadership and management roles across the performing arts. The session welcomes artists, producers, educators, managers, and sector professionals, including choreographers, artistic directors, music producers, creative producers, and company managers.
The event will explore experiences and challenges faced by women pursuing leadership roles in the performing arts, gender-based inequalities within the sector, approaches to building confidence, skills, and pathways into leadership and opportunities for collaboration, learning, and knowledge exchange
