The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui

The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui chronicles the rise of Arturo Ui, a fictional 1930s Chicago mobster, and his attempts to control the cauliflower racket by ruthlessly disposing of the opposition. The play is a satirical allegory of the rise of Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party in Germany prior to World War II.

Bruiser Theatre Company has put together an interesting and ambitious production that provokes questions about current economic conditions and the politicians we hope will remedy the situation. Irish Theatre Magazine
Lisa May’s, directing and the professional performance of the actors gave a comprehensive insight as to the nature of Brecht’s thinking during that period. A cast of six acting forty characters can only speak for itself. Each actor must be praised for the roles that they played, moving from one character then to another gives the play an added interest.
